Congressman Bruce Westerman recently attended a groundbreaking ceremony for L3Harris Technologies' new facilities in East Camden. The company is constructing four solid rocket motor production facilities as part of a $215.6 million agreement with the Department of Defense, aimed at meeting increased domestic demand for rocket propulsion manufacturing.

Westerman expressed pride in Arkansas's Fourth District hosting such a significant contributor to national defense. "Our national security has never been more important, and this expansion in Camden will continue to solidify the Natural State’s mark on defense manufacturing, support many hardworking Arkansans, and maintain our nation’s position as a global leader in aerospace and defense," he stated.

Ken Bedingfield, President of Aerojet Rocketdyne at L3Harris, highlighted the company's long-standing presence in Camden. "L3Harris is proud to be a part of the Camden community, where our talented team has produced critical defense propulsion for more than four decades," he said. He also noted the growth experienced by L3Harris in Arkansas due to strong partnerships with local leaders like Congressman Westerman.
