Our Lady of Good Hope Church – Hope issued the following announcement on April 14.
The skies cleared and Heaven shined down at CYM tonight! We had such a beautiful Holy Week meeting with these kids. While we had an indoor Easter egg hunt and Peep stack contest (go, yellow team!! , our focus was on the cross. We prayed a little differently tonight with a Cross Walk. We took a walk around the neighborhood, carrying our cross and stopping at points along the way. We stopped to hear the Gospel of Jesus’s humanity in the garden. We stopped to wash our hands like Pilate. We stopped to remember the times we did not know Him like Peter. We held the crown of thorns, we sat in silence to mourn His death, and then we rejoiced. We rejoiced because He did this for us. Our sins died with Him and we were made new. Death no longer has power over us because of that cross!!
CYM: Over the next few days, remember to stop. As you hear the Word and participate in the Eucharist, stop. Connect the steps you took tonight to the steps Jesus took to save us all. Keep walking with Him.
