Today, Bruce Westerman, the Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources, announced the vice chairs for the subcommittees of the 119th Congress.
Nick Begich from Alaska has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. He expressed gratitude to Westerman for this opportunity and emphasized the significance of Alaska's energy and mineral resources. "Unlocking Alaska’s resources is crucial for creating jobs, driving economic growth, and strengthening America’s energy security," he stated.
Mike Kennedy from Utah will serve as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Federal Lands. He highlighted Utah's national parks and Native American heritage in his remarks. "I am committed to ensuring that the federal government does not overstep its bounds," Kennedy said.
Amata Coleman Radewagen from American Samoa takes on the role of Vice Chairwoman for the Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs. She plans to focus on strengthening American Samoa and supporting her territory through committee oversight.
Lauren Boebert from Colorado has been named Vice Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. She emphasized responsible management of natural resources as critical to prosperity in Colorado.
