80.6% of Lafayette County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 6,373 citizens living in Lafayette County in 2021, 80.6% were old enough to vote, equating to 5,135 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 2,488 were male, constituting 48.5%, and 2,647 were female, making up 51.5%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lafayette County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.5%.
