FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville will host its annual Free Fishing Weekend at Lake Fayetteville from sunrise Friday, June 9, through sunset Sunday, June 11. 

The event coincides with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s statewide Free Fishing Weekend. It is one of two annual free fishing weekends offered by the City to promote and encourage use of Lake Fayetteville (1330 E. Lake Fayetteville Road). Daily fishing/use fees are waived on these days, but a boating permit is still required.

Please note that the Lake Fayetteville Marina parking lot will be closed Saturday, June 10, from sunrise to 11 a.m. as part of the Ladies DU Fayetteville duathlon.

Lake Fayetteville is open to the general public throughout the year from sunrise to sunset. Daily and/or annual fishing and boating permits are required and can be purchased at the marina office during business hours. Permit fees are as follows:

  • Annual boating and fishing (65 and older and veterans): $40
  • Annual boating and fishing (16-64): $50
  • Daily boating and fishing (65 and older and veterans): $5
  • Daily boating and fishing (16-64): $6
  • Annual fishing/use (65 and older and veterans): $20
  • Annual fishing/use (16-64): $30
  • Daily fishing/use (65 and older and veterans): $2
  • Daily fishing/use (16-64): $3
  • Daily fishing/use (under 16 with permitted adult): Free
  • Daily non-motorized boating: $3
  • Annual non-motorized boating: $20
Patrons also can fish Lake Wilson and Lake Sequoyah daily from sunrise to sunset, but a permit is not required.
