FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Due to the urgent overcrowding at its shelter, Fayetteville Animal Services will be waiving adoption fees for dogs starting Friday, May 19, through the end of the month.
There are over 20 medium- to large-sized dogs looking for a forever home. Animal Services is waiving adoption fees to help incentivize adoption and give these animals a chance at a better life.
“Our dog-adoption kennels have been staying very full, and we could really use our community’s help in placing these pets into loving homes,” Programs Administrator Brianna Curry said.
The influx of dogs needing new homes is a result of two animal cruelty cases this month. All dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped.
Animal Services is open for adoption 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday. The adoption process starts online, where adopters can fill out a simple form. Once the application is approved, adopters are invited to come in at their convenience to find the perfect fit! The shelter is located at 1640 S. Armstrong Ave. All pets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and all adopters must complete the normal adoption application and be approved.
