Arkansas Legislative Audit has completed my exit interview and it’s internal city Audit with the City of Alexander. The Mayor was not found to have embezzled or allowed anyone else to embezzle funds from the city as my opponent for Mayor would have you think, I can’t say the same for the former bookkeeper who was terminated two months ago, as there investigations continue on this matter. As for that check of $3000.00 the bookkeeper made to herself and signed her name to it, I have never seen that check or have a record of it. My opponent has stated to the public without the facts on any of this just her opinion as if it was true. The facts are I have a Signature Stamp that was used without my permission on that check, I did not personally sign it, my stamp was found in her office after she was gone. City policy and proper Accounting Practices are, you cannot sign a check that’s made out to yourself it takes two separate other signers this was not followed. My opponent is placing flyers saying Stop the Embezzlement! Well I have been cleared and the other has been terminated months ago and now it’s with the Auditors. My opponent will say or do anything; facts or not to get elected, is that what you really want in a Mayor.
