ODEN SCHOOLS: Acorn Sr. Boys State Runner Up 2022 State Cross Country

Acorn High School senior boys placed well in the 2022 State XC Meet at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs held on Friday, November 4th. Acorn High School has held the title as the two-time defending champion in cross country but just came up short this year.

Acorn Senior Boys Results:

The senior boys had an outstanding season despite losing three All-State runners from last year's team. This year's Acorn Tiger seniors competing were Isaac Tedder, Braven Rodgers and Sky Carmack, all of which ran their best of the season to give Acorn a shot at another title. Sophomore Caden Tarkinton also ran his season best. Their results put Isaac Tedder and Caden Tarkinton making All-State. Isaac Tedder also was the 7AA District Champion.

Acorn had an outstanding season winning the Magazine Rattler Run to start the season. Winning the Mansfield Invitational, 2nd in the Magazine Invitational, and finishing the regular season with a 7AA District Championship and SouthWest Regional Top 25 Tom Stuthard Championships.

Finishing the team results were Chance Ragain, Reed McGee, Aiden Kimp and Zane Newton.

Isaac Tedder, Caden Tarkinton and Braven Rodgers have been invited to the Farm Bureau River Valley Cross Country Meet to be held on Saturday, November 12th at Mansfield.

Acorn Senior Girls Results:

Acorn Junior Bella Tedder was 2nd overall at the Class AA State Championships. Freshman Kaitlynn Ledbetter was Acorn’s 2nd runner.

Bella Tedder had an outstanding season and capped it off with a 2nd individual place at the State Championships. She had an outstanding season with top places in her races; 7AA District Champion and placed 2nd in the SouthWest Regional Top 25 Tom Stuthard.

Bella will be running in the Farm Bureau River Valley Cross Country Meet to be held Saturday, November 12th at Mansfield.
