Value of El Dorado-based Consumer Discretionary company Murphy Usa Inc. (MUSA:NYQ) rose 35,316,800% on Sept. 22

Value in Consumer Discretionary stocks fell 3.1 percent on Sept. 22 from the previous day.

The strongest performing Consumer Discretionary company in Arkansas was Murphy Usa Inc. (MUSA:NYQ), sitting 35,316,750.7 percent higher to sell at $274.94.

Dillard's Inc. (DDS:NYQ) fared the worst among Arkansas companies, suffering a 37.2 percent drop to $286.76.

Among El Dorado companies, Murphy Usa Inc. (MUSA:NYQ) saw the highest rise in value of 35,316,800 percent on Sept. 22.

The Real Estate sector was the daily best-performing sector on the market.

Telecommunications was the worst-performing sector.

Healthcare and technology stocks are viewed as the safest bets for long-term gains.

Besty Kuekcer with Benzinga.com said healthcare-related stocks, such as hospital conglomerates and insurance companies, have weathered numerous economic crises and still make a profit, suggesting that they are generally a stable investment.

While technology stocks can be more risky, given the boom-bust nature of new tech companies, Kuecker recommended a diverse portfolio of tech companies to strike it big when companies succeed or sell to other larger companies.

For short-term investments, Kuecker recommended “consumer discretionary” stocks, which are sensitive to economic changes but can rise greatly on the back of a strong economy.
