The CALL of Polk County is hosting a Taco Eating Contest on Thursday, May 5, at Papa's Mexican Cafe. The CALL supports foster families in the area and proceeds benefit their efforts. Details are below.

Taco Eating Contest Rules
TO ENTER:
This contest is only open to adults 18 years and older. Every contestant must complete a registration form and are required to read and sign a waiver of liability before entering the contest.
Participants will register May 5th 5:00-6:00 pm, at Papa’s restaurant, they will pay a competition fee of $20 dollars (cash only). Limited to 10 participants. Registration will close at 6 pm. Contestants will be selected based on a first come first registration policy.
The contest will take place on Thursday, May 5th, at 6:30 pm at Papa’s Mexican Cafe.
RULES:
All contestants must be present and signed-in at the registration booth 30 minutes prior to the contest. There will be a single round with all 10 constants eating simultaneously. A contestant will forfeit his or her place should he or she fail to register and be continuously present for the entire duration of the contest.
Contestants will also forfeit his or her place if they leave the Taco Eating Contest after they register.
The object is to see who can eat the most tacos in the shortest amount of time. Tacos will be delivered 10 tacos a plate by the judge of participants table. Then by plates of 5 tacos. The tacos will be ground beef, lettuce, tomato, and cheese and salsa. No substitutions are permitted, but the contestant can select the salsa of their preference: Regular red, Verde, mild red
Contestants will compete sitting and must eat the entire served platter of tacos (including crumbs and pieces) to be considered complete.
Contestants must wait for the starting signal and must stop after the third fastest contestant is finished.
Any contestant that throws up is disqualified.
Judges for each contestant will be on hand to assure adherence to contest rules, monitor the times of the top three fastest eaters, monitor the “no throw up” rule, and to disqualify contestants who fail to adhere to the rules.
Winners will be determined by finishing tacos in the shortest amount of time.
In the event of a tie, after a brief interval, 1-minute eat-offs will take place. The tie breaker will be determined by who can eat the most tacos in 1 minute.
