HEMPSTEAD COUNTY – AR: Missing Juvenile Located, Arkansas Man Arrested

Hempstead County – AR issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.

On January 13, 2022, Hempstead County Deputies were advised by Frederick County Virginia Sheriff’s Office of a possible location of a missing 14-year-old female in Hempstead County. The Deputies were given two possible locations of where the female may be, HPD officers went to a location on South Circle Drive and Deputies went to a residence on Hempstead County Road 118 East

Upon arrival at the Hempstead 118 East location deputies located the 14-year-old female along with a 23-Year-old Male identified as Christopher Lane Stone. Deputies recovered the 14-year-old female and detained Stone pending an investigation. Both were transported to the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office and questioned by investigators.

Investigators determined that the 14-year-old and Stone met on a dating site and had been corresponding for about six months over the internet. It is believed that Stone left Hempstead County on January 8, 2022 traveled to Winchester, Virginia and picked up the 14-year-old and transported her back to Hempstead County arriving on Monday January 10, 2022. It is alleged that 23-year Stone engaged in sexual contact during the trip back from Virginia and after arriving in Hempstead County.

Christopher L. Stone was arrested for Rape and Internet Stalking of a Child at this time the investigation is on-going and may result in other charges being filed Stone. Stone was booked into the Hempstead County Detention Center where he is awaiting a first Court Appearance.

The 14-year-old remains at the Hempstead County Sheriff’s office awaiting the arrival of her parents from Virginia.
