Henderson State University issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.
The Photos by Ross exhibit opened at the Clark County Historical Museum on October 26th and can be viewed through the end of the year. It was created by the Introduction to Museum Studies class. Henderson offers a Museum Studies minor and certificate. The exhibit contains images from across Arkadelphia taken by Jane Ross. Members of the class visited the same locations and took images to compare and contrast to the originals. The name of the exhibit comes from the name of the photography studio operated by Ross in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The collected images, taken by Ross, are held in the Special Collections Department of Huie Library.
The people in the photo, from left to right, are History major, Jayla Henderson, Recreation-Natural Resource Management major, Michael Pitts, David Sesser, Director of Museum Studies and Collections Librarian, and BSE-Social Sciences major, Nicole Coffman. Other members of the class, not present in the photo, are History major, DeLainey Brown, and BSE-Art Education major, Emily Blaylock.
