City of Bearden issued the following announcement on July 31.
Due to the current surge of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, Gov. Asa Hutchinson declared a public health emergency on Thursday, July 29. Executive Order 21-14 declares a “Statewide Public Health Emergency for the Purpose of Meeting and Mitigating the Impact of COVID-19 on the Healthcare System of Arkansas.”
The intention of the order is to relieve the strain on Arkansas hospitals. Per the order, “Emergency action is warranted to utilize all available resources from the federal government and the Emergency Services Act of 1973 to provide hospitals with adequate staffing to meet the healthcare needs of all Arkansans during this surge in COVID-19 cases.”
