Cost of college went up for resident students at the University of Arkansas Community College Rich Mountain

In-state tuition and fees rose 6.3 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Arkansas Community College Rich Mountain, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $3,216 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $192 more than the $3,024 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 22.4 percent more than residents this year, or $3,936. Their price tag was reduced 30.2 percent from $5,640 in 2017-18.

About 96 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. And about 4 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 118 students received grants or scholarships totaling $620,630.

Including all undergraduates (814), 431 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.2 million.
