Cost of college went up for resident students at the University of Arkansas Community College-Hope

In-state tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Arkansas Community College-Hope, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $3,070 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $90 more than the $2,980 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 33.2 percent more than residents this year, or $4,090. Their price tag was reduced 22.2 percent from $5,260 in 2017-18.

About 95 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. And about 5 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 187 students received grants or scholarships totaling $904,749.

Including all undergraduates (1,559), 1,297 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.5 million.
