69 percent of applicants to Southern Arkansas University Main Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At Southern Arkansas University Main Campus, 87 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Magnolia enrolled 4,472 students in fall 2018, including 3,543 in undergraduate and 929 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

71 percent of undergraduates are residents of Arkansas, and 28 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (67 percent) and Black or African American (25 percent).

The school admitted 69 percent of the 3,552 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 37 percent enrolled.
