This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed seven bills aimed at expanding energy development in Arizona and California, supporting veterans, and codifying President Trump’s Executive Order 14229. The order honors Jocelyn Nungaray. House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) commented on the bipartisan support for these measures.
“This week’s bipartisan votes in the House demonstrate the wide support for increasing domestic energy production in the West, creating American jobs, keeping our commitment to Vietnam Veterans and honoring the life of Jocelyn Nungaray, who was taken from us far too soon,” Westerman stated. “I’d like to thank my colleagues for their work on this legislation and look forward to continuing to move these bills through the legislative process.”
The passed bills include:
– H.R. 410: The Alaska Native Vietnam Era Veterans Land Allotment Extension Act of 2025 extends a land allotment program for Alaska Native Vietnam-era veterans until December 29, 2030.
– H.R. 504: The Miccosukee Reserved Area Amendments Act amends existing law to protect structures within the Osceola Camp tribal village from flooding.
