The U.S. House of Representatives has approved 14 bills from the House Committee on Natural Resources, addressing a range of issues from natural resource management to support for Gold Star families. Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) remarked, “Today, the House passed bills that provide the solutions Americans need. They streamline bureaucratic processes, unleash American commercial fishing, energy, and water resources, incentivize abandoned mine remediation, conserve our natural resources, open our national parks to Gold Star families and advance locally driven solutions that spur economic development. I thank my colleagues for their work on these bills.”
Among the legislation is H.R. 167, the Community Reclamation Partnerships Act of 2025 by Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Ill.), which offers liability protection to third-party organizations involved in cleaning up inactive and abandoned coal mines.
Rep. Russ Fulcher (R-Idaho) introduced H.R. 331 to amend the Aquifer Recharge Flexibility Act for improved water transport across federal lands.
The South Pacific Tuna Treaty Act of 2025 (H.R. 531), presented by Rep. Amata Radewagen (R-American Samoa), seeks to update terms for U.S. fishing vessels under the South Pacific Tuna Act.
Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-Wyo.) proposed two bills: H.R. 677 aims to expedite appeals related to public lands through streamlined processes at the Interior Board of Land Appeals; H.R. 1001 addresses impacts of bypass flow experiments at Glen Canyon Dam.
H.R. 1550 by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) plans to redesignate Saratoga National Historic Park as Saratoga National Battlefield Park.
The Flatside Wilderness Additions Act (H.R. 1612) by Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.) proposes adding land parcels to Ouachita National Forest’s Flatside Wilderness.
Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo.) introduced H.R. 1682 to extend free lifetime America the Beautiful Passes to Gold Star Next of Kin family members and families of veterans who died due to service-related illnesses.
H.R. 1829 by Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) would convey land within Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests for cemetery expansion in Apache and Navajo Counties.

Rep Doris Matsui’s (D-Calif.) Reversionary Interest Conveyance Act (H.R. 952) intends to remove federal reversionary interest on Sacramento land for development purposes.
H.R. 2215 from Rep Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) will redesignate Salem Maritime National Historic Site as a park and authorize boundary studies.
Lastly, Rep Salud Carbajal’s Fire Safe Electrical Corridors Act of 2025 (H.R..2492) authorizes removal of hazardous vegetation near utility lines without additional timber sale procedures.
