About 51.5 percent of the 606 degrees and certificates handed out by South Arkansas Community College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Dorado conferred 212 certificates and 100 associate’s degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in general health services/allied health/health sciences. Data shows the school gave out 106 certificates in general health services/allied health/health sciences, followed by 75 certificates in welding technology/welder and 52 certificates in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.

The college enrolled 1,473 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
