About 39 percent of the 1,430 degrees and certificates handed out by Southern Arkansas University Main Campus in 2017-18 were to students in computer and information sciences and support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Magnolia conferred 547 master’s degrees and 10 bachelor’s degrees in computer and information sciences and support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master’s degree in general computer and information sciences. Data shows the school gave out 547 master’s degrees in general computer and information sciences, followed by 168 associate’s degrees in general studies and 73 bachelor’s degrees in general business/commerce.

The university enrolled 4,472 students for 2017-18, including 3,543 in undergraduate programs and 929 in graduate programs.
